Legislature Starts on
2026 Housing Bills

In 2025, the New Hampshire Legislature passed important and meaningful laws intended to increase housing inventory across the state. A summary of those laws can be found in New Hampshire Association of REALTORS’ New Laws booklet.

Earlier this month, more than 50 members of NHAR’s Public Policy Committee spent four-and-a-half hours reviewing, discussing, and debating 153 bills introduced in the 2026 legislative session. Each of these bills affects private property rights, housing availability and affordability, or real estate licensing in New Hampshire.

The Legislature began public hearings last week. Below are several key highlights.

NH Core Course Feb. 5

NHAR's year of monthly Zoom CE classes continues with the three-credit New Hampshire Core course, scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Feb. 5, with instructor Sara Holland. There is no cost for New Hampshire Realtors.

The class serves as a fundamental real estate education, providing essential updates on state/federal laws, agency relationships, disclosures, escrow, fair housing, and technology, acting as a vital refresher on rules and commission activities for all licensees to stay compliant and informed.

Please note: The registration deadline for this course is Wednesday, Feb. 4, at noon. There will not be a wait list, and we will not accept registrations after they have closed.
